Fishtelizer® Is a Biological Soil Enhancer
Fishtelizer® is a nutritional supplement that improves plants’ growth and productivity. You can often tell which nutrient your soil lacks by the deficiency symptoms displayed by plants; these symptoms can range from yellow leaves (lack of nitrogen) to reduced flowering (lack of phosphorus) to weak stems (lack of potassium) to blossom-end rot (lack of calcium).
Fishtelizer® can help replenish and fix nutrients into the soil in your garden if you constantly grow and harvest crops. This returns the soil to an acceptable nutrient level capable of supporting healthy growth in subsequent plants.
Excessive application of fish fertilizer does not yield better results, instead, it wastes resources. In addition, abnormal growth or other adverse effects can result when plants absorb more than necessary. Plants only use the amount of nutrients they require. Moreover, it is important and beneficial to add fish fertilizer at the right time when the plant needs it the most. For example, you do not want to spur new foliage growth right before a cold winter, when the plant should be conserving its energy!
When to Fertilize Your Garden With Fishtelizer®
Fishtelizer® is all around fish fertilizer.
For perennial plants, we recommend using Fishtelizer® before growth begins in the spring. Wait until the ground is no longer frozen and the date of your last frost is only a week or so away. This eliminates the risk or fear of the tender new growth getting killed immediately by the frost. Use Fishtelizer® lightly into the soil around the perennials.
Plants need help when they are growing the most.
- This occurs earlier for spring plantings of lettuce, arugula, kale, and other leafy greens.
- For a long-season crop such as corn, many gardeners apply a small amount of Fishtelizer® as a starter at the time of seeding, and then also add a larger amount in early summer, just before the period of rapid foliar growth.
- Tomatoes and potatoes will need extra Fishtelizer® in mid-season as the plants take up nutrients. When tomatoes start producing flowers, use Fishtelizer® to encourage more flowering and fruit production.
- Blueberries for example benefit when Fishtelizer® is applied early in the season at bud break. Strawberries benefit most when Fishtelizer® is applied after harvest.
- Ornamental trees, shrubs are often fertilized at the beginning of their growing season, as dormancy breaks.
- It is recommended to take a soil test to truly determine the level of nutrients in your soil. You do not want to add nutrients to your soil if it is already available in high amounts; this may inhibit your plants’ growth.
